School Trips

At the Greek School of Ayia Triada Birmingham, school trips play a crucial role in enriching our students' educational experience. These excursions are carefully designed to complement our curriculum, offering hands-on learning opportunities that bring Greek culture, history, and language to life. Whether visiting historical sites, museums, or participating in cultural events, our school trips provide students with a deeper understanding and appreciation of their heritage, fostering a sense of community and connection. Through these immersive experiences, we aim to inspire our students, broaden their horizons, and create lasting memories that enhance their overall learning journey.

Cyprus CAMP

In  May 2024, for the first time in years we, and especially since COVID, that we have taken the initiative to travel to cyprus to a school camp with a group of children from Y3 to Y6. With 10 children and three teachers we traveled to Cyprus to Prodromos to join a fully funded camp programme. The children had five days of fantastic time, learning about history, culture and visiting various places. All children enjoyed their time in the nature of Prodromos Mountains and had also the opportunity to go to the sea and to visit a medieval castle in Limassol, the ancient Greek Theatre of Kourion and the historical town of Kouklia in Paphos.  The intention is for camp tours to continue in the following years!

Field Trips as part of our school topics

At the Greek School of Ayia Triada Birmingham, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom, and our educational field trips are a testament to this philosophy. These excursions are integral to our curriculum, designed to provide students with dynamic and interactive learning experiences. By visiting historical landmarks, museums, cultural festivals, and nature reserves, our students gain hands-on knowledge that deepens their understanding of the subjects they study. These trips not only reinforce classroom lessons but also ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning. Our enthusiastic approach to field trips ensures that every journey is an adventure, filled with opportunities for discovery, personal growth, and unforgettable memories. Join us at Ayia Triada as we explore the world around us and make learning an exciting, tangible experience!

Drama, Story workshops and theatre

The importance of place, drama play, and theatre in school life, especially during the early years, cannot be overstated. Engaging in theatrical activities fosters creativity, boosts self-confidence, and enhances communication skills among young students. It provides a dynamic platform for self-expression and emotional exploration, helping children develop empathy and social awareness. Through the collaborative nature of drama, students learn the value of teamwork and the importance of diverse perspectives. Overall, integrating theatre into early education cultivates a rich, imaginative, and supportive learning environment, laying the foundation for well-rounded personal growth.

Learning Walks

Learning walks to the nearby lake offer invaluable educational experiences for students, especially in their early years. These outdoor excursions provide a hands-on approach to learning, allowing children to explore and connect with nature directly. Observing the lake's ecosystem fosters curiosity and appreciation for the environment, enhancing lessons in science and ecology. Such walks also encourage physical activity and mindfulness, promoting overall well-being. By integrating these nature walks into the curriculum, students gain practical knowledge and develop a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship, enriching their educational journey.

Cultural Activities

A major part of our school experience is dedicated to celebrating our cultural heritage, history, and identity. We ensure that children attending our school develop meaningful experiences and a strong sense of identity as part of their Greek learning journey. Through engaging lessons, traditional celebrations, and immersive activities, students gain a deep appreciation for Greek culture and history. This focus helps them build a solid foundation of pride and understanding of their heritage, fostering a lifelong connection to their roots and a profound sense of belonging within the Greek community.
